Harrow

Settled 70 years ago, Harrow's location beside the Ilanis river makes it an important trade hub between the League territories and the frontier of the Elucid forest, and beyond.   Harrow is a raucous village of some 600 residents, although most of the population are transient adventures, merchants, or blades for hire. Those who call Harrow home make their living from the traffic and trade. An adventurers first stop in Harrow is usually one of the many brothels or taverns that constitute the docks district, but those for whom fortune has smiled will find ample opportunities to part with their treasures and acquire new and exotic goods from Harrow's craftsmen and discerning shops.   Besides being the center of trade for the region, Harrow also houses the headquarters of many organizations. Most notable among these are the Church of Lathander, whose temple towers over all but the garrison's keep, and a Guildhall of the Xexon League.

Demographics

600 folks call Harrow home through all seasons, with another 400 or so who farm the outlying lands and providing the raw goods for Harrows craftsmen. The Village swells to a population of over 1000 during the spring and fall, when adventures pass through on their way to exploits in the frontier.

Government

A Mayor is the main administrator of the village, although a council consisting of representatives from the prominent guilds in the village act as the legislative body, under the authority of the Xexon Leagues arbiters, of course.

Defences

Harrow is protected by a low but wide stone wall, built in it's early years to protect the League's investment, and to serve as a bastion against any hostile force who seeks to use the Ilanis river to reach the League's greater territories.

Geography

Harrow sits on a rise along the banks of the Ilanis river. This outcropping of stone puts the village above the surrounding flood plains. The land around it is fertile for farming, and six miles to the north is the edge of the dread marsh that buffers Harrow from the Elucid forest.
