Overview of Ifyrial
Ifyrial is a continent that spans 4,290,000 square miles (11.1 million square kilometers). Ifyrial is considered to be a low magical zone and is mostly populated by Nagas, Giants, Varaiden, Goblins, Orcs, and Humans. As one of the western continents of the Old World, much of Ifyrial's economic activity stems from the eastern lands bordering the vast inland sea separating it from Telgren and Ærellion, while the west is more isolated and less developed. For around 3 centuries, Ifyrial's northern reaches have been under colonization by Telgrener and Ægyian settlers, which has had far-reaching effects on the continent as a whole. Similarly, though to a lesser extent, eastern Ifyrial has been influenced both religiously and politically by the Illahic religious group. At the current year, Ifyrial can be technologically compared to the Imperial Age. Although most of Ifyrial's denizens are developed enough to possess ironworking, few have formalized and robust power systems, with feudalism having not been developed in most cases. The continent is largely dominated either by expansive empire, squabbling clans, or miratory groups, and therefore the political situation is dynamic and highly variable even on a year-to-year basis. Although there are certain regions of the continent which are more developed than others, these are also the regions most accessible to outsiders and therefore at least some of the credit for their relative development is their relationship with outside powers.
