The Venerable Congregation

The Venerable Congregation is an important sector of the Galactic Compact consisting of all the stellar systems in and around a large globular cluster which was once the nucleus of a dwarf satellite galaxy of our own spiral complex.
Although now somewhat remote from the main centres of power in the contemporary Galactic Compact, it is thought that the Compact may have been formed in this sector, several billion years ago.
In ancient times on Earth, before first contact with the Galactic Compact taught humans the "true" names of interstellar geographic features, this cluster was known as Omega Centauri but no one has used that name for uncounted thousands of years.
