Kern
Kern is the most northerly of the five temples of the Sisterhood of the Blood Iris. The current Sister Exelsior at Kern is Amaress.

Kern is renowned for especially beautiful gardens which stretch over the many small islands close to the shore. Amaress, has a special interest, too, in music with a particular ambient and naturalistic style, a tradition long associated with this specific temple. Small gatherings of Blood Iris Sisters and mortals meet here often in the summer to enjoy concerts given by wind, water, string and vocal instruments.
Spoken of less openly are the attactions for mortal men that may be found in discrete locations within the Temple of Kern. Amaress has special skills in this area of operations as well, being the most successful of the contemporary generation of Sanguine Sisters.
History
At the beginning of the Time of Terrors, Esteranna was the Sister Exelsior of Kern and also a Sanguine Sister. The Diary of Clarise Vabatan recounts their meeting and how the mage was inspired by it to later conduct her own notorious research.
