Session 018: Traversing the Dark Report
General Summary
The party decided to get the hell out of the creepy tomb dungeon and found the door out, with a dedication to Father Skinsaw, but the door required a sacrifice worthy of Norgorber. The party decided to skin the dead cloaker and offer its hide up to the door. Bones' cut a small patch, which turned to dust and heard a voice in his mind that marked its unworthiness. Revnaa Noshk masterly skinned the rest of the cloaker, butchering it like a true hunter, and offered its hide to the door. She heard the voice in her head say she was worthy, and a small touch of the dark divine, opening the door for the party.
Once outside the crypt, the party found themselves in a vast underground cavern with luminescent fungi and tunnels that went on for miles. Out of the crypt, Barley could sniff out the closest location of booze once more. It took the party 11 days (9/4/3990 - 9/15/3990) through twisted underground tunnels for the party to reach Bone Crest. Bone Crest seemed to be an underground settlement primarily occupied by Dero and Kobolds, located in the upper part of the Darklands the locals called "Nar-Voth". The locals seemed to primarily speak Aklo, Dragonic, and Sakvroth (formally known as Undercommon). After some alcoholic persuasion by Roy Crown Royal and magical translation by Vegam Yar, the group entered the town and were led to the tavern.
Then Roy decided to act as a child once more, knowing how kobold's feel about hatchlings, with the party looking to "give him up" after "finding him" in the Darklands. Roy was taken to the chief to be sorted into a kobold clutch to learn to become a kobold dragon. Revnaa stealthily snuck behind to keep an eye out for trouble. Bones and Vegam went back to the tavern to wait for news and see if they could assess any more information, which mostly resulted in Bones getting Gwenth very drunk, but also drew the interest of a Serpentfolk with Vegam. The party also learned that the main kingdom of the Serpentfolk was a place called Coil City.
Manwhile Roy was dressed in a kobold suite and began learning the "dragon" ways of a kobold as Revnaa scouted the area learning that there was at least one other fake kobold in the area who was as tall as a grown human. While the identity of that fake-kobold remains a mystery, Revnaa did spot one of the children from Prairiehome Haven, Hakkak and that night Roy rekidnapped the child, leaving both of them running back to the tavern with a hogtied child who "got kidnapped from dragon school".
The party paid the tavernkeeper in chocolate coins and went to sleep. The next day, they decided to leave the child in the care of Gweneth and Tyrinn Ironward at the tavern while they went to talk to either the kobolds or gather information from the Serpentfolk.
