Personal history
Son of Walter McGee and Glinda McGee, Sampson grew up in a humble peasant village. When he left home for a better living as a militia recruit in the Endless War between Hakkak and Arbane, he quickly learned war was not for him. Sampson went AWOL and turned to highway robbery and horse-thieving, sending his extra coin back home. Suddenly the coins started filling his pockets and he was able to make his parents' lives easier. It turned out, he was pretty good at thieving and people started to follow him. Soon Sampson became a big name in the criminal underworld of Hakkak.
Until he met Mazel McGee of the Sons and Daughters of the Mask. Hired to end his tyranny in the criminal underworld, her failed assassination of him turned into a month-long dance of attempts against each other, neither ever quite getting the upper hand. Respect and admiration followed, the job eventually being called off and a mutual understanding developed.
Sampson started working with the Cult of Norgorber, whether for profit or a chance to see his would-be assassin is up for debate. The jobs got dirtier, but the coins made it easier… and then there was Mazel. She was ruthless, yet gentle, a terrifying force of the Cult and beautiful beyond measure. McGee fell hopelessly in love with her and by the blessings of Norgorber, she fell for him.
Together, they were the "Bloody Daggers".
They married and had two children: Stella McGee and Gibson McGee. Sampson and Mazel decided to semi-retire and "settle down" in a small isolated cabin a few day's ride from where Sampson's parents still lived. Mazel left the cult. Sampson handed his syndicate over to his right-hand man, Kotri. For a while, they found peace.
When Sampson was away on another mission, Norgorber demanded his wife's and children's lives. The assassins mortally wounded Mazel, but she managed to kill them before they got to the children. When McGee returned, he found Mazel's dead body and his crying children. He took the children to his parents' house and swore vengeance on the cult. Knowing he could not go directly after the Father of the Mask as now an enemy of the cult, he posed as a local guard in a town he knew had ties to the cult to get inside. He found out the location of the Father of Norgorber but it was too late. It was a trap. He was hung at dawn.
To add insult to injury, the cult recovered his body. They intended to raise it for their undead army. The Necromancer was killed by a volcanic meteor during the explosion. Thus Bones was created.
Relationships
History
Gibson was 3 when his father and mother died and he was left with his grandparents. He doesn't remember them and only knows what he's been told by his family.

Not much is known about Bones, even to him(them?)selves. Even his name is just a reference to his er...condition. His surname McGee is sewn as a patch onto his leather armor. He is friendly and cheeky.
