Session 017: Traversing the Dark Report
General Summary
Having pulled an evil version of Kartika out of the cursed haunted mirror, the party immeately went into survival mode as the Reflection attempted to kill the original Kartika. Many things were said and implied, but ultimately the reflection was shattered and returned to the Echoing Pale, more commonly known as "mirrorverse". Where the copy went after that, no one knows, as the party quickly covered the mirror with the blanket. Unfortunately, while this portal was facinating and defeating the reflection of Kartika was probably for the best for all involved, this had not destroyed the mirror or released the souls trapped within. Nor did it do anything to quell the secretes the Reflection revielled about their beloved orc party member.
After some debate, Bones decided to go through the mirror to the otherside, with the theory that he would be least affected as he for some reason did not have a reflection in this mirror. As he passed throught the mirror, he had some some strange sensations of his reflection self in that universe who was dead (the perment kind). Being dead, he was able to get throught he ruins on and discover the fountain was still intact here witht he golum caretakers. On this side of the mirror, instead of skins stretched across the base, Bones saw whipsy souls. As he appreached he heard whispers from the souls, but seemed otherise unaffected. In the fountain, just like the other fountain, was a pool of blood. Bones touched the blood and he unknowingly used its necromatic magic to assume the identity of the version of his reflection bringing it back to life. Knowing he could not defeat the golem caretakers alone, Revnna stepped infront of the mirror to generate her mirror self. This turned out to be a very aggressive desision as Reflection Revnna was unaware of who, or what, this half-formed monstrosity Bones was as he wasn't fully alive yet. After a near fatale injury and some keen diplomancy, they convinced Reflection Revnna to help them not only destroy the fountain and its caretakers, but the mirror as well once Bones was on the other side. Unfortunately, destroying the fountain undid the not fully complete necromantic spell that was brining Bones back to life. Bones then felt death for a second time as he lost all his tissue once more in a very grotesque manner.
Finally, though wounded and tired, the group decided to put to rest the last haunt they knew, the last message of a dying adventurer warning others of the cloaker that nearly killed them.
