Corollairë

Deep in the Forlorn Forrest of Gaz'roc lies the elves, though outsiders may not immediately recognize them as such anymore. This once mysterious yet familiar race has undergone much transformation since The Civil War of Gaz'roc.  Tall with ashen skin and mirrored eyes, the elves are strikingly different from their Arbane cousins, after years of living beneath the surface with the rest of Lord Gaz'roc's forces and most who remained on the surface have undergone necromatic changes under the rule of their leader and new thane Magoreth Haedirndis the Bow of Talathel and hero of the Arkus War.

Demographics

Corollairë is the capital of the Eldamar  in Gaz'roc and their seat of thaneship. Unlike most of Gz'roc where many species can be found in the other capitals, Corollairë is primarily composed of elves with the occasional fey. There is some exception to this with the local druid circles who will take other races that show devotion to nature if they can reach them.   After the rise of Magoreth Haedirndis the Bow of Talathel as ruler, many of the dedizens turned to undeath, some willing and some not. It is estimated about half of all dedizens, if not more, have undergone this transformation.

Government

The Eldalie are ruled by a monarch High King or High Queen who acts as the Thane for Lord Gaz'roc and is guided by an Elder Council composed of the oldest and wisest named elda in the eldamar.   The current High Queen is Magoreth Haedirndis the Bow of Talathel.

Defences

Corollairë is in the far corner of he Forlorn Forrest, protected by the mountain range divide and the miles of forrest between them and the rest of Gaz'roc. The wild magic in the Forlorn Forest protects the Eldalie inside preventing all that are not touched by nature magic or fey blood (elf, gnome, brownie, faun, dryad...) from entering ore then a mile or two past its boarder. Corollairë itself has an outer wall, though nothing as grand as Kingshold and relies heavily on its nature magic and warriors to make up the bulk of its defense.   In recent years, their army has expanded to undead hordes under their control.

History

During the First Era, Ambar was a singular land of magic and chaos. Then came the first Reckoning and the world split in two. Brother was torn from brother and in the settling of Ambar’s dust, the elves changed. The Ńolwe became lost to all but the most skilled travelers, stuck in their fractured world where dusk remains a constant called Hisilome. The Eldalie, our kin, were left here, in this fracture of Ambar where ingolë is strained. The Eldalie discovered the Casallie high in the mountains and deep in the ground. Though not of our own, they became our teachers, despite their stature. An alliance was formed out of gratitude.   The Eldalie grieved. The Eldalie adapted. The Eldalie grew.   Centuries went by, before the Second Reckoning stuck Eldamar. Uvanimo appeared in Eldamar, bleeding across the divide from Hisilome, their reason unknown. Some, wild beasts with little difference in nature to the elk or wolf, others with minds as keen as the Eldalie but wicked in thought. The Uvanimo raped and pillaged where they pleased, spreading like an infection. It is this shame that caused such creatures such as the Orcor to descend from the Eldar.   During the height of the chaos caused from the Second Reckoning, the Moreldar appeared. Descendants of our brothers in Hisilome, they came to claim what was once our shared forefathers. Thus started the Arkus War. The Eldalie and Casallie banded together, for the Moreldar desired Eldamar but needed Casallie’s felya to thrive, for their eyes could not adapt in the light of this Ambar. Centuries of battle passed before the Loce appeared with an offer to end the war and follow their lead. The Eldamar accepted, though not all lands agreed so willingly for each of the Seven Loce held different temperaments of how to rule. In the end, the foundation of the Orboro Aranie was formed and the Arkus War ended. The Eldamar knew peace once again.   By the time the Second Era finally arrived, new races began to take form. Mutations left from the shame of the Uvanimo, fryar began to spread across Ambar and formed aranie of their own. Within centuries, some of the fryar decided they were unhappy with the Orboro Aranie ruling over their own and after the first Loce fell at their hands, the Spine was erected to prevent the fryar from banding together. This took a toll on the Eldamar. Those under Gaz’roc’s rule were cut off from our sisters in Arbane’s and Galda’s forests. Travel was restricted by boat, and were it not for the skyborn in Azure’s territory, the Eldamar in Gaz’roc’s aranie would have been isolated. This boundary seemed to suffice for a time.   The fryar were not dissuaded. The Eldalie found ourselves braced the third Reckoning: The Reckoning of Man.   It is unknown what happened to our cousins in the rest of the Orboro Aranie, but here in the lands Gaz’roc our kind was forcibly divided once again. A frya, who’s name has been removed from time, rose up against Gaz’roc and banished him with all who had skill of ingole, deep beneath the ground where not even the Casallie could find them. Whole cities disappeared beneath the earth and with two thirds of our people gone including the King Dawar Evestar, the Eldalie fell into darkness with the rest of Ambar.   Corollairë miraculously survived and the eldlie left preserved what they could. Centuries passed since that day. The Eldalie have retreated to the Great Forest... fractured, trying to rebuild what we have lost to the egos of the fryar. Then the chains that held began to strain. Long forgotten names resurfaced and the loce returned with out brothers. The elda who lived among the Casallie had changed, their faces no longer recognizable.   The eldalie knew we would not survive another reckoning. Once again, the Eldalie adapted. The Eldalie grew.

Tourism

None. Although Corollairë has many wonderful sites and historical landmarks to the eldalie, it is closed off to the rest of Gaz'roc.

Geography

Corollairë lies deep withing the Forlorn Forrest and against the divide in the south of Gaz'roc.
