A pirate is one who has a far lower moral compass when it come to how they procure their wealth. Known to frequently engage nautical mischief such but not restricted to costal raiding parties and intercepting ship for their goods and valuables on the seas.
The act piracy is not one only seen on the open waters of a planets suface.. Anywhere ships or vessels travel there is always a risk of pirate activity whether in the sky with airships or in the Astral plane or even amongst the stars.

Most pirates begin their career as simple Crewmen or as a Sailor. Many begin seeking out pirate crews to join while others are given a join the crew or die ultimatum after their ship has been plundered. Regardless of what the reason they became a pirate they are expected to be both competent and capable of performing the tasks they are assigned.

The career path of a pirate is a dangerous one with death and and jail time being highly probable. A pirate can move up the chain of command of a crew in several ways. The most frequent reason for a pirate get a promotion is the death of the previous holder of said position. The
