Navali

A Human Hunter/Gatherer Tribe located in the hills just north of New Crescendo. They are the largest known Human tribe in Lyrisia. They are known for being fearsome warriors, and feverishly dedicated to the Gods.

Structure

Chieftain Zando rules the Navali, but the Boneman serves as the religious leader, who doesn't give orders, so much as council directly from the gods. Even the Chieftain seeks and listens to his council.

Culture

The Navali value strength, and settle many of their disputes with violence. Most internal fights are not to the death unless they're very serious, though. They believe that the Gods show their favor to the bravest, and the strongest, and so they very much believe that might makes right.   The ultimate responsibility of childrearing falls to the mother, as marriage does not exist in the tribe, and long-term relationships are rare, and so most of the time they don't know who the father is. However, the Navali are a very close-knit clan that tends to raise their children together as a whole, and the tribe takes raising children very seriously, so that every member of the tribe can be as successful as possible.

Territories

They consider their territory to be wherever they make camp. They don't tend to stay put for very long, so their territory moves a lot.

Military

Pretty much everyone in the tribe is considered to be a fighter, but they lean on their Hunters to protect the tribe from small threats and intruders.

Technological Level

The Navali use very basic stone tools. They have the ability to make rope out of plants and leather, and they make some fairly nice things out of this, such as wicker baskets. They're also skilled with pottery.

Religion

The Navali worship the Gods, and constantly try to impress them. They believe that the Gods bless them with safe travels, short winters, and fruitful springs. But they believe they must earn this favor, and so they often make great displays and sacrifices to them. Not a day goes by that nearly every member of the tribe doesn't do something to show the gods that they are worthy.

Trade & Transport

They do occasionally trade with others, especially the Dwarves if they happen by. Typically with other human tribes, they raid if they seem weak, but if they seem strong they tend to respect that, and are more likely to trade with them.

Major Exports
They do make their own basic supplies, such as baskets, pots, tents, clothing, stone tools, rope, and so on. Other tribes might sometimes be interested in this, but Dwarves rarely are. For the Dwarves occasionally they trade gemstones if they find any, or decent furs, or any other spoils from raids they've been on.
Major Imports
They usually look for food, weapons, armor, and other tools or basic supplies.
