Station 9
Station 9 is an ancient Formian base on the southeastern edge of Ukulam, designed to be one of the first lines of defense against Lashunta invasions from Qabarat. Despite both mechanical and biochemical countermeasures, the fort was heavily damaged at some point during the Gap, and was swiftly abandoned.
However, the biochemical systems lived on, eventually becoming an organism on its own, which in modern times have begun to engage with the wildlife -- acting much like an invasive species. The Esowath Conservancy has considered bombing the site to halt the spread, but are concerned about the possibility of releasing biological matter in the blast.
Unbeknownst to the public, Project 9 took over the base at some point in a century past, utilizing the lower levels in secret. The strange creatures above act as the perfect cover, now joined by the angry ghosts of their victims, which some believe have contributed to the monsters' sudden rise in intelligence...
