The "sandboard war"
Once in a while, more than one group of hunters arrives at the place where the Beasts from Above will show up. In those cases, they usually cooperate in their hunt as in most cases, there will be enough meat and Beast parts to satisfy both sides and their tribes. Compared to that, the so-called "sandboard war" was something that quickly got out of control. And it ended just as quickly.
The leader with the smashed face called the sandboarder an idiot for not watching where's he going. The sandboarder responded by calling him various slurs for sticking his head out like an idiot. They started beating each other, their people tried to separate them, one got his nose smashed by the sandboarder, he returned the punch, so sandboarder's friends joined the fight. At some point one person pulled a Speargun on another person only to be targetted by someone else. The chaos ensued and at some point, everyone started circling each other on their sandboards, trying to shoot each other down. It was like a trainwreck.
How it started
Awaiting for the Beast to burrow through the upper layer's floor, a group of hunters sat on the side of the sand dune. Unbeknownst to them, the second group of hunters belonging to another tribe was getting closer to the same spot on their Sandboards. At some point, the leader of the group that rested heard the sound of something scraping on the sand behind them. He raised his head and turned around and that's when his face was smashed with a fast-moving sandboard. The impact hurled both him, the sandboard, and its user flying down the dune. The leader with the smashed face called the sandboarder an idiot for not watching where's he going. It got better/worse
When everyone circled each other and tried to shoot down the members of the other tribe, they forgot about something. The Beast, their quarry just dug through the bottom of the upper layer and it was hurling itself down on them. So now there were two groups of people hunting each other, and a giant insect trying to hunt them down one by one.The result
Somehow, after all this chaos, only two hunters, each a member of another tribe, survived. They did it by hiding behind two different sand dunes when the whole "conflict" began. After all this chaos, they picked the stuff of their comrades, called their tribes to collect the meat and parts of the dead Beast and simply said goodbye to each other, being the only witnesses of the whole absurd situation.
Conflict Type
Duel
I like that they started brawling and forgot about their quarry, who then joined in the fracas. Absurd.
