Titans

"Titans" is a colloquial catch-all term for the various colossal dangerous monsters that can be found across the Brass Realms. They are, or at the very least can be, walking disasters. They are also often called "Titan beasts".
They are not very common, as they often don't like each-other very much. Still, there may be multiple of these fascinating creatures per world.

Their origins are myriad, as in truth, all that is required to be a "Titan" is for a creature to be powerful and colossal.

The Children of Tiamat

Tiamat is the greater deity of chaos and motherhood. She is a loving, caring mother, but all her children eventually leave her.
So her motherly urges inevitably lead her to desire a new child to mother. Thus Tiamat is the origin for many titans across the Brass Realms.
Tiamat's children are born from a union between her and various entities throughout the brass realms, most commonly various gods, and may inherit certain traits from their fathers, but each and every titan beast is a new creation, different from its siblings.

Remnant Titans

The second most common origin for titans is to be remnants of a previous Civilisation or a fragment of a previous order. Colossal ancient creatures, remnant war-machines, creatures blessed by long-dead gods that still cling to life.

Mortal Gods

Titans are colossal and have access to very powerful exotic abilities. They are as powerful as living gods and are notoriously hard to kill. There are many tales of a beast being wounded by foolhardy 'heroes' only for it to return a season later to wipe the city in which its attackers live off the map as revenge.
These colossal creatures can cause volcanic eruptions, control the weather, drive mortals insane with their scream or other dreadful abilities. Most titan beasts can influence the world around them with their mood.
However a titan may also be able to nurture plants and animals near them, or calm the storms that may otherwise devestate the world.

Guardians: Some of the titans decide to protect whatever worlds they end up on. Occasionally this is because they owe a favor to a deity or simply because they have taken a liking to the creatures living there. Some of these guardians are cultiral icons or worshiped as gods and sacrifices are made to them.

Destroyers: Some titans however do the excact opposite. They become threats to civilisations, wether due to a grudge or a mere whim. They dedicate themselves to wiping out city after city. A rampaging titan is a civilisation-ending threat. Because of how difficult it is to kill such a Colossus, a civilisation's best chance is often to seal them away using powerful magic, often with the help of the divines.

List of Notable Titans

The Horned Wolf: The Horned Wolf is a child of Tiamat and the demon lord Baphomet, from which it inherits its horns. The Horned wolf prowls the frozen north of Haven and posesses powers over beasts and the weather. A legend tells that those who cross the Horned wolf's gaze and live will surely find true love. It prefers to stay away from civilisation and is a terror upon the local frost Dragons .

The Scijian Serpent: A winged serpent, begotten by tiamat with Hermes. She glides effortlessly on the gales above the Sciyjan Empire and posesses a scream that drives all that hear it to madness. It likes to sing, though its melodies sound terrifying to humans when distorted by the strong winds that surround the serpent.

The Kraken: A wicked beast of uncertain form, the Kraken is no child of Tiamat but instead is a creature from a past age. It dwells in the immense seas of Haven and has the ability to change the form of living beings, including itself. It likes to follow large storms and pull ships into the frozen depths. This beast is a large reason for why the seas are so feared, for no armada could withstand it.

The Nightmare Child: The terror of the sun world, the Nightmare Child is begotten by tiamat with The Nightmare King. It posessed the power to feed upon the fears of mortals, same as its father. The creature is responsible for the dreadful night of Lucelain and is the personification of evil on that world.

The World-Walker: The World-walker is a war-construct of ancient humanity, operating autonomously long after the battle it was involved in was lost and its world died. It now endlessly wanders the world of Neter looking for its foes; the Mechanoids.

Appearance:

Titans vary wildly in appearance.
Burrowing beasts, winged serpents, swimming cephalopods, towering arachnids, lupine land-dwellers, all these and more are but the beginning of the sheer diversity of forms the titan beasts exhibit.
However their physical appearance, their parentage and their abilities are often linked.
