Description:
The Nightmare King is an ancient Spirit of primordial origin. Allegedly he is older than the Brass Realms themselves. While he is no greater deity, he is very powerful even among gods.The Nightmare King pursues the torment of mortal creatures with a narrow-minded focus rarely seen in other beings, making him and his forces appear even more numerous and powerful than they actually are.
The Lord of Blood wants to hurt mortals, to enslave them, to torment them and kill them. He feeds off the Fear and Pain of mortals. It is his one and only source of nourishment. He uses violence and torture, fear and power, nothing else. He does not want to catch you unaware, he wants you living under his yoke, afraid of his wrath turning upon you.
He does this out of no malice, but because it is his nature. He is a being from an older time, a remnant of a primordial age. The enforcer of a way of life that is no longer the law, but may become so again in time.
The Nightmare King previously spread his influence across the Brass realms freely, causing cults to form and to build their own dark kingdoms in his name. This has been temporarily halted as he has been sealed behind a powerful arcane seal somewhere in Haven. His slaves search for this seal's location in order to set him free.

The Nightmare King is worshiped by madmen, fools and those that believe by serving him they shall escape his wrath for another day. Barely more than mind-controlled slaves, tormented, broken people.These deluded cultists exist only to bring forth the downfall of mortals and to ever do his bidding. They exist to feed his Terrors and sacrifice those that oppose him. He torments them only slightly less than those he wishes to destroy, keeping them on the brink of madness.
In case these cultists are ever successfull, they build brutal societies filled with abuse, slavery, live sacrifice of people and worse.
With his priests greatly weakened since his imprisonment, many of these dread domains have collapsed, or dedicated themselves to new masters. However his most loyal followers still draw power from him without issue.
The Nightmare King has followers beyond the mortal as well: His children, the Nightmares. These spirits come in a large variety of shapes and sizes, and follow in their father's footsteps perfectly, spreading fear, pain and death wherever they can.

Appearance:
The Nightmare King has no set form. He is always portrayed by his slaves in various horrible shapes. Common attributes include too many eyes, claws, mouths and cruel, mocking expressions.
