Creation of Mortals

After a war between the gods and the first primordials, the gods had proved their love over what would be known as the Mortal Realm. The primordials accepted this truth and ceased their attack on two conditions; the primordials wouldn't destroy the realm as long as the gods never returned and they would restore it for a new species to call it home. The gods received gifts to rebuild what they together had nearly destroyed, and with three items created the Mortals who would live there.   The first was a grail with four gems pressed into its rim each representing the four of the first primordials (an emerald for Gia, a ruby for Pyro, a sapphire for Aqueenous, and a diamond for Frolo). Prometheus, a titan who befriended the gods, was tasked to fill the grail with the blood of the realm and use it to wet the clay which he would mold the Mortals from.   The second was a dream catcher, a gift from Frolo. Prometheus used it to take the stars from the sky and place them within the clay forms, giving them souls.   The third was a lantern, within it was a piece of Pyro himself. The lantern glowed brightly and when its light was concentrated by its hood, it would produce heat of great intensity and fire the clay, finalizing the Mortals' creation.   This was how Humans where created, and soon Halflings when Prometheus quit half way through their molding to restore the sun.   Dwarves traveled from the elemental realms to seek new materials in the Mortal Realm, Elves who were banished from their fey realm found refuge here, and the giants made their own Mortals from the mountains dubbing them as Half-Giants.   These people were the ones to create the original thirteen kingdoms in Great Eethill, most fall during the First Shift only leaving Vuruesis to survive after the awakening.   When the Mortals were put to sleep, the elves split into three either joining a human family, staying awake and defend their home from the hellish abyss, or descend into the earth realm to live their days underground, the dwarves went to sleep in the hills, and the half-giants froze in the mountains and tundras. All to be awoken many millennia later to a ruined world brimming with potential and resurrection.
