Halfling
Though rare in the Barren, these folk are never out of place. They're short and not spotted in a crowd easily, but even when speaking to one you may not be able to tell the difference between them and a human, elf, or dwarf. They have a mystical power to them that no one can easily describe, and the Halflings that know of its origin keep it hidden so that no one else can obtain their power.
Trait Thieves
Though some of their abilities cannot be explained, these can. Unlike humans who can easily adapt, Halflings can easily steal. When spending enough time with Dwarves, they become hardier. When spending enough time with the Wood Elves (a feat no other race than Wood Elves could easily accomplish) they become attuned to nature and can meld into it.Types
Because of their ability to steal traits, there are many different kinds of Halflings.Human
Halflings cannot steal traits from Humans, but they tend to become far more stealthy and even less distinguishable in a crowd.Elven
Taking traits from the Wood Elves, these Halflings are one with nature and can camouflage into it within seconds.Dwarves
Dwarvish Halflings can take a punch and a swig of the most potent alcohol.Dragonborn
These Halflings tend to have more colorful hair and a fearsome breath (sort of like Dwarvish but more deadly).History
Like Humans, Halflings were created by Prometheus but never were completed. When the Gods burnt out the sun during the Mythological Era, Prometheus had to stop molding a batch of Humans to go and restore it, causing his half-creations to obtain life and become Halflings. They say that they're able to steal traits as a means to complete their creation.
