Wardell Warrington

Commodore (a.k.a. The Sultan)

Commodore Wardell Warrington is a former pirate, though he now runs in much more respectable circles.
Four years ago Wardell and his ship, a brigantine called The Sultan of Swing, were captured during a raid near Lost Hope. Instead of hanging the man and his crew he turned against the Hold of the Sea Princes, giving up many of their secrets, and is now employed by the Imperial Navy as a privateer.
Wardell is well known as a very crafty and skilled seaman, and he currently patrols the waters around Saltmarsh on the lookout for smugglers.
He is an old friend of the councilman Gellan Primewater.

Appearance and Mannerisms

A tall and confident figure, Wardell wears his long grey hair in braids tied with cerulean cloth. as a sign of his new allegiance to the Empire.
He dresses like a sea captain, in comfortable long leather boots and a blue waistcoat. A rough cerulean sash around his waist is a nod to his prior life as a pirate.
He likes to smoke a pipe, and will still suck on it when deep in thought, even if the pipe is not lit.
Wardell wears a slightly curved longsword at his side, with an ease that suggests long years of use.

Notable Achievements

Since working for the Imperial Navy Wardell and the crew of The Sultan of Swing have had several important successes against the smugglers of the coastline of the Western Commonlands.
