Lankus Kurrid is the owner of
The Wicker Goat in
Saltmarsh, the oldest tavern in the town.
A retired officer of the
Cerulean Army, Lankus caters to a wide variety of clients, including the dwarven miners in the town and the town guard. He purchased the Goat with his retirement funds and savings he had accrued during his time in the Empire.
The Wicker Goat is a two-story building that has sleeping quarters for rent on the upper floor, usually sufficient to accommodate the slow stream of travellers making their way through
Saltmarsh on the way to somewhere else.
Appearance and Mannerisms
Lankus is a conservative man, and dresses in plain, though well-made and tidy clothes. His greying hair and goatee frame a worn face that has a seemingly permanent frown, and his eyes have a slightly haunted look.
He is proud of his past, and displays relics from his time in the Imperial armed forces behind the bar. He supports greater involvement from the
Cerulean Empire in matters pertaining to
Saltmarsh and it's security.
He still walks with a stiff soldier's stride, and practises his sword-work every morning in the yard outside the Goat.
Notable Achievements
During his long years in service to the
Cerulean Army Lankus won two medals. The
Cerulean Trident medal is one of his most favoured possessions; after all it is only awarded to those who display acts of great valour and bravery. He was also awarded the
Moon of Pholtus for injuries sustained during his service.
A cautious and conservative man, Lankus has still been known to pick up a blade to protect those who are dear to him, such as the staff at the Goat,
Velda Paddley,
Effie Fletcher and
Ginkle Tricksail.
