Archduke of the Amber Coast

Under Beringer Redaxe's rule as Archduke, the Amber Coast region of the Cerulean Empire has prospered and transformed from a land of wilderness and danger to a relatively safe place for it's inhabitants to live their lives - at least close to the coast. Further inland the Amber Coast remains one of the wilder places in the Empire.
Whilst the lands under his rule do not have the full security and resources of the Keymouth region of the Empire, Redaxe is a proud and faithful supporter of the Emperor, even if some of his subordinates are not so loyal.
Redaxe rules with a strong but fair hand from the large harbour town of Ambercove. His throne sits in Amberise Keep, a crumbling, high-towered fortress that overlooks the port town.

Appearance and Mannerisms

Archduke Beringer Redaxe is a man as weather-beaten as his castle, but despite his advancing years and heavily lined face, he is still strong and has the vigour of a much younger man. His long white hair is normally tied back, and frames his pale face along side a long white beard.
Redaxe is not one for pomp and circumstance, preferring plain talking and action. He does, however, expect his commands to be carried out to the letter and with swiftness. He may seem stern and uncompromising, but the people of Ambercove at least respect and admire him.

Notable Achievements

In his younger years Redaxe was a famed hunter, who it was said, could track even the stealthiest stag for days. He is one of the few who ventured deep into the Fearwyd Weald and returned, and so understands the dangers of that dark place better than most.
The early years of his rule were a little shaky, but he soon got to grips with things, and made the region secure. The roads of the Amber Coast might not be patrolled like those of the northern Empire, but they remain relatively free of bandits. Swift justice is dispensed to those who defy Redaxe's laws.
