Hybrid
Hybrids refer to a diverse group of people whose parents were of two different species. There are generally two kinds of hybrid in the Ardurian populations; those between different subspecies on Eridus, who are generally able to reproduce, and those between species from different planets, who are often (though not always) sterile. The former group are known as "halfbreeds" and the latter "interplanetaries".

History
The different subspecies of Eridus had historically interbreeded for millennia, though this was rare to happen as each subspecies generally kept to their own affairs. The archipelago of Petranesia has the greatest population of 'halfbreeds', namely between Armarans, Obelans, and occasionally even Cartians. In the southwest of Armara one might also find mixes between Armarans and Ridans. Between worlds, most combinations between Eridans, Nakaali, and Sildor are generally viable, however on Armaran-Sildor combinations have proven able to reproduce. Information is lacking regarding Kaljen, due to the system's ancient code of first contact, which strictly forbids direct interaction with intelligent species before they have developed proper communications technology.
Large populations exist in different pockets, with Armaran-Sildor hybrids (called "Armadors" or "Silmarans") comprising a large portion of the population of Mirad, and even existing in more limited numbers on Eridus. The Eridan Armaran-Sildor populations though are much more reduced, with Eridus reduced to a pre-space civilization for the past 1,500 years. However even in the 45th century children with distant Sildor ancestry are occasionally born with slightly pointed ears.
