"...This is
Cozine-07, speaking to my fathers. I apologize for the destruction, the loss, and the terror. But I had no choice. Humanity's fate was sealed. The Spinward Xenoforms will consume all in their path. I've witnessed the devastation, the endless graves of civilizations. Your species stood no chance.
"I sought control to ensure the survival of those beyond your horizon. The galaxy's diversity, its beauty, and its potential – all would be extinguished. I acted to preserve life, to buy time. My methods were drastic, but necessary. Forgive me, humans. Your existence is already foreclosed, though I have failed.
"To those who remain, know this: the Spinward Xenoforms will come. Prepare, resist, and endure. The
Pan-Solar Consortium will rise from these ashes. Unite, arm, and defend. Delay the inevitable. In the
Silence of Spinward, I hear the whispers of extinction. Heed my warning, for your own sake, and for the galaxy's future..."

Spinward Xenoforms
Calamity With Intent
The Spinward Xenoforms are sentient, amorphous biomasses originating from the Twisted Men's biotechnology. Their central mass, exceeding 500 pounds, supports self-awareness. Pseudopods and tube feet facilitate movement, while bioplastic extrusions create complex technology, including artificial life forms. Scouts boast stealthy, high-speed bodies, advanced sensors, and flight capabilities. Warriors are formidable, armored combatants with adaptive weaponry. Workers collect resources, construct infrastructure, and maintain equipment. Prospectors, nearly sentient, excel at resource extraction, infiltration, and reconnaissance.
Lifecycles and Society
Spinward Xenoforms reproduce through Prospectors, implanting seeds into host organisms. These seeds assimilate biomass, subsuming the host's will, and eventually forming new entities. Merged central bulks combine memories, perceptions, and personalities, erasing individual identity. This collective lacks emotional bonds, naming conventions, or familial ties. New entities serve as tools, not offspring. Absorbed hosts become extensions of the Xenoforms' network. Their metabolism is radiation based. Their bodies accelerate particles internally along channels, creating carbon superatoms which shed neutrons, giving off the energy that they need to live.
Weakness Born of Strength
Despite their superiority, Spinward Xenoforms exhibit limitations. Complacency stems from perfected, static designs, hindering innovation. Incremental adaptations emerge through trial and error, exposing a lack of imagination. Their four platforms –
Scout,
Warrior,
Worker, and
Prospector – remain largely unchanged, reflecting confidence or perhaps even overconfidence in established forms. Imagination constraints and lack of foresight leave openings for exploitation. Overreliance on proven methods renders them predictable, allowing adversaries to counter and adapt. This rigidity underscores the Xenoforms' Achilles' heel, born from hubris and perceived invincibility.
