C-35 Nano Bubble Drones

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The glass spheres act as omnidirectional lenses for the interior, which is a mix of aero-graphene and Colonizing Nanites which build structures on the aero-graphene to store visual data as well as microgravitic thrusters.   The nanites operate on basic programming, seeking to spread equidistant from each other in an enclosed space while still remaining in sight, creating a field of awareness which records video from every conceivable angle within it.

Manufacturing process

Nano Bubble Drones are mass produced in Galactic Trade Syndicate factories on Earth.

History

Nanobubble drones were developed intially by Galactic Trade Syndicate for use in boarding actions. The idea initially was to allow commandos to pump the corridors of an enemy ship full of nanodrones to achieve perfect situational awareness. In reality, the information overload proved too distracting, so Shackled AI coordinators were used to aggregate the data and relay it via comms.   Those that found it most useful turned out to be the Journos, freelancers in particular, who could sift through the data later and cut together the best angles for the action.
