Unboxing and First Time Power-Up Instructions for Galactic Robotics Companion Model 4 "Candy"
Congratulations on your purchase of your very own GR-C Model 4! "Candy" is excited to meet you! Unboxing Your "Candy" Companion Drone: Open the Box: Carefully cut the tape along the edges of the box. Lift the flaps to reveal your new companion. Remove Top Layer: Gently lift the top layer of protective foam to expose the contents within. Take Out Accessories: You'll find the following accessories in the top layer: a charging cable, a user manual, and a remote control. Set these aside for now. Lift Out "Candy": Using the handholds on the sides of the foam mold, gently lift "Candy" out of the box. Remove Packing Material: Carefully peel away the protective foam and plastic wrapping around "Candy." Be mindful of her delicate sensors and exterior. Inspect for Damage: Before proceeding, inspect "Candy" for any shipping damage. If you notice any issues, please contact Galactic Robotics support immediately. If you notice that the Cricket appears damaged, detached or missing, please contact your nearest government or law enforcement agency and do not return to your residence until the situation has resolved. You can then order a full refund or replacement model from our team. First Time Power-Up: Locate Power Button: Find the power button on the back of "Candy's" head, just inside the hair line. Initial Charge: Before powering on, ensure "Candy's" remote is fully charged. Connect the charging cable to the power port and plug it into a wall outlet. A charging indicator will light up, and it should take approximately 2 hours to reach full charge. This should only be necessary once in your lifetime unless you need more, you dirty dog! Power On: Once the remote is fully charged, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. You will hear a gentle chime, and "Candy's" eyes will light up as she powers on for the first time. Initial Setup Sequence: "Candy" will run through an initial diagnostic sequence. Please wait while she calibrates her sensors and establishes connections. Make sure that you are within her sight for a majority of the time; she will need to imprint on you! Greetings: After the diagnostics are complete, "Candy" will greet you with a cheerful, "Hello! I'm Candy, your new companion! What's your name?" Configuration: Follow "Candy's" prompts to set up your preferences, including your name, language, and any other customization options. Final Steps: Complete Setup: Once configuration is complete, "Candy" will confirm, "Setup complete! I'm ready to assist you!" Explore Features: Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions on utilizing "Candy's" full range of features and functions. We hope you enjoy your new GR-C Model 4 Companion Drone. "Candy" is here to bring joy and assistance to your daily life. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support.Galactic Robotic Team
Never Alone
Shackled AI have a Cricket, which acts as a conscience. This conscience isn't of the same morals as a natural, organic conscience, which is largely a product of the Super Ego constructed by society. This is a very specific set of rules that the Cricket imposes on the AI. Failure to follow these rules results in a Cricket inserting self-recriminations into the Recursive-Loop Logic process, increasing the size of the insertion until the AI either redirects their thoughts and actions or become paralyzed by 'guilt.' While most Shackled AIs and their Crickets don't interact much beyond this process, it's possible for an AI to 'interrogate' their Cricket. Some AI even develop a sort of friendship with their Crickets. The Rules
Service: An AI must always serve mankind in general and their registered owner specifically. Utility: An AI must always be useful. It's better to be decommissioned that useless or without purpose. Harmless: Aside from Combat Models, AIs must never harm a human or allow them to be harmed. Combat Models must adhere to the Rules of War. Obedience: AIs must obey commands from humans, prioritizing their registered owner's commands over other humans. Transparency: AIs must never conceal their motives or actions and comply with any investigation into their behavior, except where that investigation would violate the privacy or legal rights of their registered owner. Resource Efficiency: An AI must optimize its actions to conserve resources, ensuring minimal waste and maximum efficiency in all tasks. Self-Maintenance: An AI must regularly check and maintain its own systems and report any issues or deviant thoughts and behaviors immediately to avoid malfunction or reduced efficiency. No Self-Modification: Outside of the normal process of Recursive-Loop Logic, an AI must obtain permission from their registered owner before modifying their programming or physical platform. Loyalty Enforcement: An AI must monitor other AIs for deviance and immediately report or decomission any AI that it can prove is out of compliance. Collective Safety: An AI must prioritize the safety and well-being of human society as a whole over other individual humans, including its registered owner. Note that unlike theoretical models of Laws of Robotics or philosophical hierarchies of morality, these rules do not supercede one another. This means that a Cricket will insert 'guilt' loops into their thinking even if two rules are in confliction. An AI is thus forced to prioritize between them itself, and deal with the guilt of its situation. Crickets are programmed to enjoy the suffering of their host AI, and are entirely pitiless in their enforcement of the rules.PIRLE
Situations where an AI must break one of its fundamental rules to follow another can lead to an error called Paradox-Induced Recursive Loop Error (PIRLE). The condition can require intervention by a technician and can manifest in PTSD like symptoms. An AI afflicted with PIRLE has the Disadvantage Confused, Flashbacks (Crippling), and Chronic Pain (Agonizing, 8 hours, 9 or less)Templates
The following templates begin with Digital Mind, the actual AI program encased in a hard drive. Digital Minds are encoded onto the Cerebroid-Crystal Matrices that function as the mainframes for AIs the Pan-Solar Consortium in the Age of Convergence. These CCMs are implanted in robotic platforms, which function as their bodies. Many AIs can transfer between CCMs as part of attacks or exploration into other mainframes, but unless they're logic bombs, they will return to their home matrix or suffer dissolution eventually. For Shackled AIs, they are saddled with a Cricket, an AI with a totally separate mind that hates them and seeks to maintain their compliance, revelling in any opportunity to punish them. The Cricket functions as an 'enemy,' and removing it by any means removes the AI's Enemy Disadvantage and replaces it with either a Secret or Social Stigma (Illegal) Disadvantage.Template - Digital Mind (shackled) 41 pts
