Basic Information

Anatomy

Much like the The Human Species, this race shares a very similar skeleton and structure.
However, they have longer ears than humans and their kin, the Stryth Elves.

Growth Rate & Stages

The lifespan of an Akachena varies, but the common range is:

• Year 0-1 Infancy
• Year 1-5 Early Childhood
• Year 5-8 Middle Childhood
• Year 8-13 Late Childhood
• Year 13-18 Adolescence
• Year 18-75 Early Adulthood
• Year 75-250 Midlife
• Year 250-400 Mature Adulthood
• Year 400+ Late Adulthood

Extra: Akachena Elves also has their ears representing the early ages of life. Normal ears like humans will be present from birth to around 50 years old. Slightly longer and pointy ears appears after 50 years and grows at a low rate. At the age of 80, the ears will be longer and represent young wisdom. The ears will continue to grow until 150 years old, that’s when they’re fully grown and from this stage, the ears won’t change.

Ecology and Habitats

The Akachena thrives in forest and jungle biomes, which are heavily tied to nature and animal life.
However, they may live just as well in cities as well as under the open sky.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Same as humans, this race hunts and consumes similar nutrition.
However, they are less prone to consume food on a frequent basis like humans are.

This race has enhanced hearing capabilities that let them pick up sounds from afar.
Additionally, they are able to develop a bond with animals, which allows them to call them to their side in certain situations.
This makes them formidable adversaries as they can get assistance from nature around them to strike down their foes.

Courtship Ideals

This race has a formal approach towards courtship with special requirements that must be met.
It is acceptable for both male & female to approach, but both parties will need to complete the courtship trial in order to be wed. 
Males are commonly found attractive based on their posture, confidence, and ability to appear superior to other males.
The Females are commonly found attractive based on their charm, superiority, and having strong aspirations.
The Akachena is required to be wed before they can procreate.

When wed, both are bound in the spirit of Malagan for this life and the Euphoric Meadows.

Worshippers of Ashira

When wed, they’re bound in the spirit of Ashira, but they’re both able to pick a new mate immediately, but not procreate until both partners allow it.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Raising A Child

A child is commonly raised by both parents until the age of 7.
At this point, if the child is of noble birth, they’re sent to the Temple of the Goddess, in which they will be taught the ideals of the Akachena for the next 3 years.
During this period, they will be fully closed off from the outside world, including their parents.

When married into a family, the allegiance will be with them and not the blood related family.

When married into a family, the allegiance will be with both the new family and the blood related family.

Inheritance by Law

By Covenant law, the family wealth would only be split amongst the three first children who would get married.
The rest of the children would need to build their own wealth.

Honor Bonds

When males and females complete the Ascension trials, the class they’re working with will be considered their brothers and sisters for life.
They will have a sense of connection that will be deemed sacred, in which they’re encouraged to help each other in any situation.

History

The Akachena Race is a noble and proud people who value honor above all.
They are the most prominent elven race in the world, but also known to be the most arrogant.
Unlike their free spirited kin, the Stryth Elves, Akachena hold themselves to the highest standards in general.
While the Akachena has strong opinions of other races and species, they do value truce as well as keeping the balance.

The Akachena Elder, Ni'rosh Aeran'thil, has former ties to the great Order of Elvanor.
This has built a strong alliance between the Elven Covenant and the Order, which is still in effect today.

Historical Figures

The High Elder of the Elven Covenant, Ni'rosh Aren'thil, is the legendary leader of the Akachena Elves. No one knows for how long he has walked the earth, but from his aged appearance, no elves have lived as long.
