Imbernium

Imbernium is a strange substance. Imbernium is green and sticky. The most common thing that is comparable to imbernium is honey. Imbernium has the same viscosity as honey, being so viscos that it is often considered too solid to be a liquid. Imbernium is a liquid and, if it's not tampered with, is organic. Imbernium is often tampered with in order to extract its power. Imbernium has the power to turn mortals into demigods, demigods into lesser deities and lesser deities into greater deities. In other words, imbernium has the power to give any living thing into something divine. Yes, any living being, be it a blade of grass to a dragon to a frog or maybe even something humanoid.   Imbernium is a very rare substance. Imbernium comes from a special plant called a ribus. The ribus plant works like a fountain, in that imbernium flows off the tip of its leaves, down to the soil and back into the ribus plant. Anyone can collect imbernium, but one must be careful not to collect too much imbernium. If anyone removes too much imbernium from a ribus plant, the ribus plant will wither and die. Only five (5) ribus plants can be on the planet at a time. This is due to an ancient law that was created by the greater deity Ibnob, the god of nature and forests. Because of this, imbernium is only found only on Absensia since all the ribus plants are located their.   To get power from imbernium, the imbernium must filtered by a "divine colander". As the imbernium goes through the divine colander, the imbernium must immediately shower onto the desired living thing in order to be absorbed. This absorbing process takes time as the imbernium sticks to any living thing and eventually is absorbed. The effects of absorbing imbernium is not immediate but the results are potent and indefinite. One must not drink or inhale raw imbernium. Doing so could result in death, a wild magic curse, or other undesired inflictions without the result in godly powers. Only on one (1) known instance was raw imbernium drank and the drinker received godly powers without any side effects. This is when Primus Grimm drank a gallon of imbernium in order for him and his family to receive divine powers and attune to The Grimm Throne . When a divine colander is used to shower anything with imbernium, the divine colander cannot do so again for another ten (10) years. There are three (3) divine colanders that are known to exist. One of them is held by the Grimm Empire. One of them is held by the Animal Lords, who have retreated to Absensia. The last one is owned by Ibnob herself and placed somewhere very secretive.   Collecting imbernium is much like collecting honey. One would simply get a wooden wand for collecting honey and store the imbernium into a glass jar. Imbernium can be collected at any time but it is recommended that one would collect imbernium on a solstice or full moon for optimizing the amount collected. It is optimal to collect imbernium when both a full moon and a solstice happen in conjunction with each other.   Once upon a time there was a production line of imbernium made by and for the Grimm Empire. This production line held the five (5) ribus plants that made imbernium and was the Grimm Empire's finest achievement. This production line is no longer available due to the fact that Unicorns have sabotaged the production line and have relocated all five (5) of the ribus plants in the production line.

That is a POWERFUL substance indeed, it can grant divinity. Oh man that's spicy, that's an interesting concept and it has a fun name. I can imagine this stuff is worth more than like....well anything in existence in the world really.

I really like the naming of the substance and the plant. A cool concept and sounds really powerful!   I take it the raw imbernium doesn't have the divine-gifting properties and it only gains this effect when filtered through the divine colander? Does the raw substance have any effects, good or bad?

That's something I can add, but in my head (it's drafty in there) I imagine it would normally have bad effects when dealing with imbernium raw. Thought I would answer your question before I added it to the article.

Thank you! I appreciate the answer, and keep up the great work!

Refreshing idea which could be considered "going to far". (In terms of being too powerful) But where is the fun in world building, if we can not go to far and even beyond and sometimes even a bit further.   Also +1 for an idea, that inspires others. At least in my head.
