Adeb'ur Rank/Title in The 5 Shudake | World Anvil

Adeb'ur

Job Description

Technically, the Adeb'ur are the ruling Council of Krekkon. All the prominent members of society gather together in times of need to discuss the nature of whatever called them together, make a descision, then go about their merry way. They are usually called together when there is a dissagreement between family houses or a particularly complex or annoying crimal case needs insight.   When called, they work as a council that convenes at the center of their respective cities in a large, circular, open courtroom. There they deliberate and come to whatever conclusion before dispursing back to their homes and districts. If there is a stalemate, then, and only then, the Krekkonian Royal Family is brought in as a deciding vote.

Requirements

Education

As with anyone in a position of power, A good education is recomended, though, in this case, it's hardly required. still, it's a long standing expectation that the potential Adeb'ur at least go to school most of the time.   Those from incredibly affluent families are able to get a foriegn education, usually attending schools like Blackwater Academy or even the Royal Greenis Academy at the peak of it's reputation. This seemingly bougie opportunity helps not only in working as a leader but keeping the role

Family History

As with most other Krekkonian institutions, the governing is run on public reputation. this is Greatly influenced by the family one comes from. As such, most Adeb'ur come from long standing, rich Krekkonian families. This history is often refered back too when dealing with cases, especially those with multiple different paths justice could take.   When looking in from the outside, some people could consider the families and their areas support more like gang or mafia families, but those are the people who see everything as a conspiriacy so it couldn't possibly be correct.

Public Approval

Lastly, public approval is the most important thing in becoming an Adeb'ur. Firstly, it's what their whole office hinges on, and secondly, the public is who the Adeb'ur serve, making their oppionion very important, especially if thye want to remain in power.   There are many ways to capture, gain, and hold The publics eye.
Beauty
The easiest and unfortuneatly most effective way is to just be outstandingly beautiful. Shimmering clothes, expertly done makeup, the perfect body. Every angle must be perfect, beyond what is naturally possible.   With their impossible beauty standards, its no wonder Krekkon is one of the leading industires in beauty, both natural and magical.
Lavish Lifestyle
Beyond just being beautiful, Adeb'ur tend to be wildly rich--or at least they display that. Large, beautiful houses dripping with Waw Crystal and diamond and as much high quality artwork as can be tactfully squeezed onto each all.   in addition to appearances, those that are able to travel and use their wealth are given attention as well, which at least pushes people to show off by choosing to get some of the best education in Pangella whenever possible.
Public Appearances
Finally, to be remembered, they have to be seen. To even be considered, the public has to remember you exist. Some do this by strivin ot be the best in their fields, the most magically astounding or the best dancers. Some apply their time to the humanities, helping the general public in some way enough to earn their love.   Fortuneatly, this system in correlation to Krekkonian inherent laziness, intimedation doesn't seem to work. in this way, forceful ciminal activity doens't seem to make it far up the political scale, only crime that swallows sweeter than honey.

Uniform

While there are official robes made for each new member of the Adeb'ur, they aren't worn that often. Most see the soft pink and gold chefan robes to be an eye sore, even when styled to perfection. There are too many layers and not enough definition.   The wrapped top is usually forgone, as is the strange sleeve that floats just a little bit too much, even by Krekkonian standards. The soft pink, while a nice color, is just out of fashion enough to be completely shunned out of distaste.   Still, in a show of begruding support, Adeb'ur in service encorporate some form of their robes into their extravagant outfits at least when they are currently in deliberation or opperating in an official capacity.

Appointment

Becoming an Adeb'ur is shockingly easy--at least on paper. First, your name has to be known by the people. Garnering public support is the lengthiest process, though typically people start with some sort of reputation which makes the time easier. Once fame is built to an impressive benchmark, a city district or old family must officially recomend the canditate to the local Adub'ur for consideration.   There is a lengthy, public review which boils down to if everyone actually wants them. once confirmation is had and no major issues are found with the candidate, they are welcomed into the ranks of Adeb'ur.

Dismissal

Just like getting put in office, getting removed is just as easy. If, at any point, the public doesn't like what an Adeb'ur has to say, or the initial district that lent their support revokes it, the Adeb'ur is immeadiately placed under investigation. over the next 3 weeks, the Adeb'ur must attempt to get the lost support back. if not, they are removed from office and stripped of their power until their position can once again be gained.
