Raro
Raro are Krekkon's last defense against...well, anything. The Raro are the pinicle of Krekkonian government, but they are only called upon in times of crises when the Adeb'ur can no longer make wise, sound decisions for the good on the city.
If not, they are sent back out to their family and friends and instructed to leave.
Job Description
The Raro are the ones Krekkon turns to in their time of need. They are the desision makers, the panic-dealers, the ones Krekkonians turn too in times of greated distress. A Raro's job is to deal with anything that comes at the nation as a whole that the public and the council can not. Understandably, it is a very stressful job. Thankfully, there have been few enough times in history that their need has been greatly needed on a larger scale, meaning the risk of taking up this position is fairly low.Requirements
A Level Head
since a Raro's job is typically stressful and demanding, one of the main requirements of their temperment is a calm standing in the face of peril, stress, or discomfort: all things the average Krekkonian struggles with. Still, there are some that posess a level of decorum and self-control that are natural-born Krekkonians that can fulfill the brief.Avaliablity
Half of their job is dependent on them being avaliable if or when the need arises. If they can not drop any and everything they are doing at any given moment, a Raro is not fulfilling their job. Special accomodations are given to women carrying a child, in labor, or fresh from birth. this is, however, a tense, highly depated subject. there are some that belive Raro should not have families in the first place while other still think it only natural. in the case of this kind of unavalibility, another Raro will already be assigned to the same area and ready to step in should the time arise.Detachment from Material Things
A Raro, unlike most other Krekkonians, must be willing to leave all their worldly possesions behind at a moments notice should the need arise. At the beginning of their service, this is tested with the lack of a goodbye to their lovedones at appointment and the inability to pack before heading to training. Again, this will be tested should a crisis arise and swiftness is needed above natural love for possessions. Many Raro behave as if this detatchment must also apply to relationships, especially those following creat tradgedies liek the Hollows outbreak. It is uncirtain whether this course of action is truely the propper way of dealing with things or not.A Sense of Responsibility
No one could survive a crisis unless they had some sense of responisbility and the inner drive to get it done. with this comes an affluence with leadership and taking charge. If someone is unable to bring themselves to bear the responibility of others, they can not be a Raro, even if they excel at every other aspect.Krekkonian Decent
I think, perhaps, the most basic of the requirements is a Raro must be of Krekkonian decent at leat 2 generations in, as well as living in the city of their placement for immeadiate access to the issues should they arise. Some interpretations of this designations believe Raro should never be aloud to leave the city just in case, but other belive the chance of them actually being called into action is far too low to justify such intense "house arrest".Education
It only makes sense that one of Krekkonians most important leaders be well educated in case need of them arises. Some of this is handled durring their year of training, but much of what thye need to learn is taught in public schools dotted along the lower levels of most cities. Seeing as Public education in Krekkon is both free and optional, this both raises the likely hood of an education in the poorer factions and lowers the possbibilites for those who don't have enougvh responisbility or interest to seek it out. a win win for the potential Raro.Uniform
The Raro's official uniform is comprised of long, flowling robes in the classic Krekkonian style along with thin, glittering outer layers to help catch the sunlight and make them a beacon of hope in dark times. The original design came from the early beginnings of the nation and their struggle to build on the rolling sands. The design was settled on for the exact reason stated above: to make the wearers station as Raro blaringly obvious with it's glittering boldness. Underneath the golden outder robes are layers of functioning darker garments, much like the Sand Crawlers wear, to help them be prepared for anything that may come up with their time on duty.Appointment and All the other things that go along with that
Like any title or job, a Raro has a choice in the matter. Unlike other heavily responisble roles in forien governments, like Tublian Thotthä or Vokhitha, Raro volunteer for the position before going through a series of tests to make sure they can withstand and live up to the pressure.A Written Test
First comes a writen test, on which it asks about Krekkonian history, the Volunteers personal history, and crisis management. the test is typically over 500 questions long and taken over a concentrated time where interaction with the outside world is strictly monitered byt the current Raro. Once scored, the Volunteer is returned to their homes with the instructions to wait as deliberation occurs.the waiting period
Durring this deliberation, the Raro, Adeb'ur, and their separate networks of "assistants" will watch the volunteer carefully noting their tendancies, habits, and reactions ot misfortune and stress. these watchers will also orchistrate situations to better test and understand the volunteer, going so far as to include their family and friends without their knowleged in these tests.
After several months of observation and constant reports, the findings are then brought to the Adeb'ur and a decision is made.
