Nowhere on Tersten is more divisive than the city of South Harelstone, the third most populous city on the planet, and one of its most important. It is the heartland of corporate influence on Tersten, a place where so many Lordanian megacorporations have found their footing on Tersten, and a place where this influence is both felt and seen. The city itself is relatively small, only a few blocks, but it consumes more power than Tersten City's entire metropolitan zone, a region that could fit South Harelstone within its borders five times. The city is awash with neon signs and sights, advertising just about anything you could possibly want or need.

It serves as the capital of the Yukela Pradesh, extending its influence across the entire region. The Pradesh has been kind to the corporations, allowing them to continue building their influence and profit, in exchange for significant benefits. It is for this reason that South Harelstone is loved by Sol and hated by Tersteners.
The city, and the surrounding region of Yukela, were initially settled by penal convicts escaping from the north, and by pioneering settlers from the east. The largest city in the area was Kadari, until it was destroyed by the Tersten State during the War of Chandran Submission. Following the destruction of Kadari, the settlement of South Harelstone was chosen to be the site of further development by the People's Republic, who are effectively responsible for Harelstone's economic strength in the modern day, as well as its cultural isolation from the rest of Tersten. The people of South Harelstone are different, and have more in common with the Solars and the Lordanians than they do other Tersteners. It is connected via the South Harelstone Spaceport, as well as majior highways and railways all the way to Port John.
