Dowerbridge Estate
Dowerbridge Estate is a large manor house located in the Dowerbridge Vale of Tersten County. Located a few miles north of the city that shares its name, Dowerbridge is a large privately owned estate, owned and lived in by the Dowerbridge Family. The family have lived in the area since the establishment of the Pinascimate Penal Authority, and are the descendants of Upper Lordanian aristocracy. The current patriarch of the family is Al Dowerbridge, who inherited the position of Marquees of Dowerbridge from his mother.
During the Penal Colony era, the Dowerbridge Family were one of the first of Lordanian elites to move to the planet. While many of these Lordanian families returned to Lordania following the end of the Penal Era, the Dowerbridges have remained, becoming a classic example of the Areso-Terstener. While the Dowerbridge family are no longer considered to be a player in Tersten politics, the region surrounding the estate is very much still under their influence, for better or worse.
Dowerbridge Estate was built as a stately home and ranch for the family. Since its construction, the estate has been expanded and improved over the years, but still retains most of its 23rd Century architecture and aesthetic. The home was built in 7PC by Joanne Dowerbridge, the first Marquees of Dowerbridge. The property is built on a small hill, allowing for a view of the whole estate from certain parts of the manor building. Nowadays, the estate is more known around Tersten for its stud farm. It is the only place in the galaxy where Dowerbridge Horses are bred. They are a modern breed of horse that is extremely desirable and thus attracts a lot of business both on and off-world.
