The Most Honourable, Lord Al 'The Quiet One' Dowerbridge is the patriarch of the Dowerbridge Family, a historically prominent upper class family on Tersten. Unlike his predecessors, Al Dowerbridge has been content to let his family's influence wane in the face of democracy on Tersten. He has inherited his mother's title of 5th Marquess of Dowerbridge following her death in 62PC, and given approval to use the title of Lord, as his ancestors also did. The Dowerbridge Estate has been his family home since the arrival of the family in 5PC. While historically, the estate has been a centre of control for the entire area, its importance in the community has declined significantly following the collapse of the PPeople's Republic of Lordania and the establishment of democratic governance. In the modern day, both Al and his estate are more known for their profitable stud farm, with Dowerbridge Horses having a reputation as good, hard working hosses.
He has been given the nickname 'The Quiet One', due to the fact that when he does leave the estate, he is shy, reserved, and reluctant to speak with anyone.
During the reign of the People's Republic, Dowerbridge was sympathetic to the resistance movement, and occasionally lent his support in the various subterfuge and sabotage taken against the PRL in the Dowerbridge Vale.
