Dwarves
Dwarves are a humanoid race that inhabits the tundras of Norheimsk. They are known for being brilliant engineers and blacksmiths and are responsible for 80% of all weapon production for the Terratosian Empire. Since Dwarves themselves are considerably smaller than the other three races on Terratos, their own weapons and armor are unusable for Humans, Elves and Ashens.
The most distinct properties of a Dwarf are that they are on average around one meter tall, mostly bald and have long beards. Dwarves seem to exclusively have red or black hair.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dwarves are humanoid creatures, meaning they have two arms and two legs and walk on two legs. They are significantly smaller than Humans, Elves and Ashens.
Biological Traits
A dwarf can live up to 60 years, but they only take ten years to fully mature.
Genetics and Reproduction
Dwarves are mammals, meaning they reproduce by mating directly and the Dwarf-woman carries the child for 10 months before being born.
Growth Rate & Stages
A newborn Dwarf is about 30cm tall but when fully matured only grows up to one meter.
Ecology and Habitats
The majority of Dwarves inhabit the frozen tundras of Norheimsk, though mostly underground.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Dwarves are omnivorous, meaning they eat whatever is available. However, they do have a high preference for meat.
Biological Cycle
Dwarves are not influenced by the different seasons.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Dwarves live together in so-called Clans. They will spend most of their lives in these Clans and these Clans are treated as one singular entity. Every Dwarf within a Clan shares their possessions with the other members of their Clan.

Beauty Ideals
Dwarves have a very masculine and alpha-like culture. Therefore, there are no real definitions of beauty in other people in Dwarven culture. Dwarves who are the most successful in the mines and behind the forge, also tend to be the most successful in the romantic life.
Gender Ideals
For male Dwarves, it is expected that they can mine ores and work the forge from a very young age and if a Dwarf for any reason is not able to do so, they will be exiled from Dwarven society.
Female Dwarves, on the other hand, are responsible for gathering food through farming, hunting, and trading.
Courtship Ideals
In Dwarven culture, personal possession is frowned upon. Dwarves that mine ores below the earth are to share these ores with their clan. The combined value of all the ores and valuables collected by the Dwarves in a clan determines their social status.

Common Dress Code
In day to day life, Dwarves always wear their battle armor as a status symbol.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
As Dwarves continue their mining operations, they will reshape what is left into vast majestic temples and cities, with walls paved with copper and statues made out of solid bronze.
Due to their nature of spending most of their lives underground, stone and ores are omnipresent in their architecture, having their homes primarily built out of stone and large statues made from ores and gems.
Mining and smithing are a major staple on Dwarven culture, making up the majority of their day to day life.
Dwarves are also religious in some way, but they do not worship any deity. In fact, they worship the now extinct Dragons. This has to do with their past when Dragons were still around and a major threat, requiring the Dwarven ancestors to bring frequent offerings to the Dragons in order to be left alone.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
In Dwarven culture, it is a tradition to celebrate the yearly Dragon Festival, in which all Dwarves honor their fallen ancestors by bringing offerings to the large Dragon statue located in Hing.
Common Taboos
The greatest taboo within Dwarven culture is a Dwarf who is unable to contribute to their Clan in any way.
History
Dwarves first evolved during the First Era, in which they had their hands full surviving the Dragons that roamed their lands. To somewhat live in peace, ancient Dwarves developed a ritual in which they brought offerings to the Dragons near their settlements.
After the Dragons were driven to extinction, Elves took their place as the oppressors of the Dwarves and things remained this way for almost three millennia until the Humans rose up and started the Human-Elf War. After this war was over, the Dwarves took their chance and rose up against the Elves as well, driving them away from Norheimsk
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Dwarves, in general, are on very good terms with Humans and neutral to Ashens.
Surprisingly, they are also the most tolerant towards Elves out of all the other races.
