Wrothmïr
The furthest north of all the major settlements in Lothlonde Wrothmïr has been home to a race of weather-hardened men for thousands of years that have embraced the cold and placed their roots deeply into the snow and ice. While uninhabitable to many outsiders due to the harsh conditions, Wrothmïr sits at the rim of the polar ice cap and as such, experiences some of the most extreme weather phenomena on the planet.
Demographics
86% Wrothmen - Wrothmen being human males and females displaying characteristics of the clan of peoples belonging to the tribal lands of the north (specifically, "thicker" more durable appearance to the skin, pale coloring, vibrant eye coloring - usually blue or green, vibrant hair coloring - usually blonde or red, facial markings in the form of tattoos, overabundance of jewelry to include lip, nose, ears and other body parts)
Other makeup of demographics include 10% dragonborn, 3% other (half-elf, dwarf, human)
Government
Under the official rule of the Lothlondian Monarchy, Wrothmïr operates under the local authority of The Council of Five, a councillorship headed by the following individuals: Captain of the City Watch, The Master of Coin, High Cleric of The Church, Emmissary to Rowanshyre, City Code Enforcement Official. These five individuals comprise The Council of Five, and elect the Duke of Wrothmïr.
Defences
The city is naturally defended by the sharp slope and cragginess of the surrounding mountain, as well as the stone walls that encircle and safeguard the residents. Guard towers armed with sentries and siege weapons positioned at regular increments around the wall protect the residents within from a myriad of threats.
Industry & Trade
Resources in Wrothmïr are scarce, compared to the lush vegetation found in the more habitable regions of Lothlonde a mere hundred miles to the south. The most crucial resource that is bought and sold in the trade halls of Wrothmïr is cold iron from the deep ice mines. Known for its superior blacksmithing properties, this ultra-rare metal is almost exclusively found in frigid climates.
Districts
Inside the walls of the city is where all the businesses, shops, taverns, churches, and the keep are located. Snow covered cobblestone streets are occupied by modest homes with thatch roofs, while sparse evergreen trees tower in the air. Outside the perimeter of the wall, smaller humbler cottages sit butting up against the mountain.
Guilds and Factions
Many of the more common guilds and factions found throughout Lothlonde, (and Central Hasdall as a whole), never established a solid footing in the far northern territory of Wrothmïr. At one point in centuries past, a makeshift band of adventurers attempted to form a Tribe of The Talisman, but it dwindled in large part due to lack of membership and - again - because of the harshness of the climate. The furthest footing in the northeast of Lothlonde in recorded history is in makeshift trade halls along the main north-south thoroughfare, east of Lake Ironhome - on the road to Wrothmïr, some 200 miles south.
History
One of the oldest and most ancient settlements in existence, Wrothmïr has known its share of hardships over the course of its long history. Long before the Wrothmen settled and claimed the lands as their own, they had to wrestle it free from hosts of creatures residing in ancient ruins and rubble; drakes, ice golems, and other long-extinct manner of monster that threatened their early success. It is believed that at one point in time, there were no polar ice caps, but that some cataclysmic event transpired that magically froze the poles and turned them into complete wastelands of totally uninhabitable death zones. Wrothmïr sits firmly in a sub-arctic zone well south of the ice caps, but still experiences the treacherous effects of this magical cold - or so it is believed.
The tides of war have never reached the doorstep of Wrothmïr. Plenty of in-fighting has transpired over millennia regarding political and social matters, but full scale military conflict has not been seen, save for Wrothmïr's aid that was sent to The Void War.

Tourism
Despite the almost year-round temperatures being what most of Lothlonde and the rest of the world would consider bitterly cold (and barely habitable), devout followers of Mirimae regularly make the pilgrimage north to Wrothmïr to visit the famed Sólarhöll, and to experience first hand the majesty of Helgrikyne. Over the years, Wrothmïr has turned in to a highly religious settlement, the influences of it's worshipped patron found ubiquitously throughout the town.
Climate
Some of the coldest temperatures recorded worldwide occur here. It is believed colder temperatures could be recorded at the poles, but travel that far north (even with magical protections) has yet to be achieved.
The lowest temperature on record in Wrothmïr was -349 degrees, documented in the year 877 AD.
Nine months out of the year, the climate is tolerable. Temperatures range from 10 degrees to as cold as 20 below. During the wintertide, aptly called "The Freeze", citizens tend to remain indoors entirely, only venturing outdoors in cases of dire emergencies. Those required to conduct business outdoors (merchants, militiamen, etc.) require the use of magical protections to safeguard against the extreme conditions. Temperatures during The Freeze average 100 degrees below zero, and can dip to 200 below during extreme blizzards and windstorms.
