Naga
Basic Information
Anatomy
Naga have the upper body of a humanoid and lower body of a serpent. Their bodies are covered in thin scales aside from the palms of the hands, around the eyes, and scalp in many individuals. Some naga may have tails of serpents rather than hair. Often, many naga will have fangs and serpentine eyes.
How much of their body is 'body' and how much is 'tail' can vary between individuals greatly, even those closely related. Contrary to popular belief, naga are not cold blooded but do have a significantly lower body temperature than most other humanoids.
Biological Traits
Although not truly cold blooded, naga have a much lower body temperature than other races and will prefer warmer environments as they will not have to work as hard to stay warm.
Dietary Needs and Habits
All naga are obligate carnivores, requiring much of their diet to be some form of meat. Red meat, fish, poultry, or pork is quite common, but they do not suffer any ailments from eating other foods. Naga, due to their large sizes need to eat significantly more than basal humanoids, and so their dishes often have 'filler' food such as rice, bread, or pasta in order to bulk up on calories and amount eaten per serving.

Social Structure
Naga are rather social and will gladly spend time with anyone, and typically have smaller family units of parents and young children, while young adults will go off on their own to form their own families. There isn't a strong pressure to have children in their culture, and many naga are happily childless.
Facial characteristics
A common feature among naga is scaling around the eyes and on the cheeks or forehead. Most also have serpentine, slitted eyes.

Like all races and species that have scales, scale mites can be a problem for many naga. Break outs of mites are common among school children, similarly to lice in other humanoid races.

Naming Traditions
As naga are often found in higher population around the equator and in warmer regions, their names typically follow the same traditions as languages in these regions.
Gender Ideals
There is rather little sexual dimorphism in their species and this follows true for their gender ideals as well.
History
The naga do not have a single origin, instead arising as a race from multiple unions between humans and multiple snake gods and their children, who were often born in the image of their divine parent.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Naga get along well with most other races on Terra, aside from Centauri and Harpies. With the Centauri, there is often a shared fear of one another by both races as a fear of snakes is common for centaur, and naga often have a fear of being stepped on or trampled by centaur. With harpies, however, much of the disdain is cultural due to the pantheon of gods commonly being worshiped by naga having frequent wars and conflicts with the pantheon of gods worshiped by harpies.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
There is a massive variety of coloration, patterns, and skin types among the naga. Their 'human half' can have any of the same skin and hair colors found in humans, but often will match the coloration on the 'snake half', with a continuation of the pattern up their back. Many naga do not have a noticeable split at all.
Albinism, like it is in vampires, is more common in naga than many other races.
