Humans

do i really need to tell you what a human is

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Humans were known for their resilience, stamina, and endurance that very few races alive today are able to replicate wholly. In particular, humans had the highest resistance to magic of all races, at the cost of also being extremely resistant to being able to use it. Only the most powerful and deadly of magics could affect them outside of secondary effects (such as fire magic causing burns, or using magic to move objects), and when they were affected by magic, it was often deadly.

Ecology and Habitats

Humans were once spread all across Terra during the Human Era, but are now extinct. They died out during the Rise of Dragons, although they have many descendants still alive today.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

The humans are well understood today for having been heavily exploited by the dragons. Many were killed for territory and hunted as food, and throughout the years eventually used and expendable soldiers. Draconic rule over the humans resulted in a massive reduction in their population and fragmentation of their settlements, as any group of humans over a few hundred was quickly found and wiped out. It is thought that this is what caused their extinction, as whatever humans were left during the War of Black Ash were spread too thin to recover their population.

Civilization and Culture

History

The human race had a long and prosperous history until the rise of the dragons, during the late 2020s on their calendar. Many civilizations of theirs were lost to history or intentionally destroyed by the dragons as an act of domination over them, many only being rediscovered through archaeology today and subject to study. Due to magical corruption, both draconic and divine, the modern races were born out of humans- Aside from Vampires and Werewolves prior to Ferventi, almost all races can trace their creation to humans that were warped by corruption and mutations caused by magic. Most dramatically and sharing much of their historical plights with the humans, the Omnia.   By the year 16000, humans were officially considered to have gone extinct, with a living human not having been seen in almost 300 years.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

The relations between humans and other races were not known to have been on the best of terms. Particularly with dragons and omnia, their interactions were often violent and full of mistrust, the groups quickly coming into conflict with one another.   Other races, such as Werewolves, Vampires, and Demons were steeped in folklore from the start of humans' mistrust and disdain of them. In some areas, particularly North America and Europe, Angels were revered by the humans and this led to as a race, many angels adopting human forms of architecture and clothing due to cultural exchange.   The human race did not exist long enough to meet many races alive today, such as Fairies, Arachne, Mermidae, Centari, and others, to have left much of a cultural impact on them as a whole and little is known if anything about their interactions. One can assume that by the time these races had become fully fledged and made cultural identities of their own, the humans had already largely gone extinct.
