Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Pedophilia- Don't be a Jackass
Don't engage in stereotyping characters, using racist, homophobic, or transphobic tropes, or deliberately be punching down on other groups.
Not wrong, just different.
When creating or expanding upon different cultural groups, religions, races, and beliefs of people in the world, be sure to do so in a manner that does not portray the group(s) as inherently wrong for their beliefs or evil for them. A group with a differing culture than the mainstream of the world is not wrong, simply different.
No lifting from other source material or real people
Anything and any character you create here must not be lifted from another work. This means you cannot create a character that is one from someone else's work or heavily based on a real person. No horcruxes from Harry Potter, no BTS but centaur, crossovers, etc. Anything you make
must be your own. This includes all images hosted as well- Only use images you have created yourself or commissioned for use here.
Respect other people's work/the canon
Please keep edits to your own articles beyond general typo/grammar fixes. Do not rewrite other people's pages without permission or create pages that directly go against what they have created. Also keep in mind what is already canon in the world before making changes to it.
Ross has the final say
While this is mainly a collaborative project and input from others is always welcome, please keep in mind that ROTH is and always will inherently be my (Ross) project. It is something I have worked on since high school. At its core, ROTH is my world and my project, and I can for whatever reason and at any time decide to reject concepts, characters, plots, etc or make changes to them.
Absolutely no use of AI
You and anything you created, AI or not, will be removed.
Adding to Canon
If you have an idea or concept, please feel free to add it, but you
must discuss it with Ross/the discord first. Ross and the mods have final say over what becomes canon or not, and pages made without prior discussion or going against other parts of the world may be removed. Once a concept or character is approved, you will have one month to create their page and write at least 1,000 words for them, or it will be removed and made non-canon.
Please follow the formats already used for canon pages- This includes categorization, structure, paragraph breaks, etc. Please do
NOT use RPG character/RPG pages, we are not at this time using those.
If you do not have perms/authorship on the world and would like to submit something, please ask Ross to do it for you- I will make the article and put you as the author of it.
Characters
All characters at this time must be one of the races already present in the world- we are
not making more sentient groups, as there are already several to choose from.
All humans
must be extinct in the current era, but human characters for past eras are allowed.
Only the undead can have fully blank white eyes. These characters MUST have died at some point or another- can appear alive or decomposed, but MUST have died in some fashion.
All undead are bound to the death god, Shia.
Immortals
MUST be treated as the age they appear as. An adult immortal is an adult, a child immortal is a child.
Gods
Only Ross is in charge of the major gods. No major god, past or present, can be created by anyone else.
No dragons can be gods outside of extremely particular cases approved by Ross.
You may create past minor gods even if there is currently a minor god of that species, but please respect the work of those currently in control of the current minor god.
Please check the
spreadsheet to see which gods are claimed prior to making one.
Do not hoard concepts/minor gods. If you are claiming one, please make and maintain their page on world anvil.
Omnia
Only in cases approved by Ross may you create an omnia that existed prior to the rise of the dragons. The only case at this time is Tiamont's Casina.
Omnia's forms must be creatures that existed at the time the character became one/was born. Absolutely no circumstances where an omnia's true form is a dinosaur, sabertooth, etc. Animals that have since gone extinct are fine, such as an omnia whose true form is a panda.
Other
Please keep all of these rules in mind, and if you have questions, do not hesitate to ask and reach out to Ross or other members.
Failure to abide by rules of the project MAY result in author access or member roles being revoked- The rules here are the warning. If Ross or Mods say no to a concept, character, or any other part of the world, we can and WILL remove access as needed.
No vandalizing articles, claiming others' work as yours, or promoting other worlds/works under any circumstances.
Failure to abide by the rules of the world, discord, and community will result in your removal, access, and creations within the project. Egregious breaches of the rules, especially in the discord, may result in your permanent ban from our project and all associated groups.
