Transcendent Realms
Domains Beyond the Divinexus
The Transcendent Realms are those planes that lie beyond the Proximal Realms, separated from them by the Divinexus. They are not reflections of the material world, nor mirrors of mortal experience, but domains shaped by divine will, purpose, and authority.
Each Transcendent Realm is claimed and defined by a god or comparable transcendent being. Within these realms, the metaphysical laws of the Proximal Realms no longer apply uniformly. Reality conforms instead to the nature, doctrine, and intent of its ruling power.
Souls claimed upon death are conveyed across the Divinexus into one of these realms, where their ultimate fate is determined. Some are preserved with memory and identity, others are granted rest or dissolution, and still others are reshaped to serve divine ends. These outcomes are matters of divine practice rather than universal law.
Mortal access to the Transcendent Realms is exceedingly rare and never incidental. Passage requires divine sanction, exceptional circumstance, or catastrophic breach. Even when entered, such realms do not accommodate mortal perception easily, and experience within them is often fragmented, symbolic, or incomplete upon return.
Collectively, the Transcendent Realms form the outer structure of ordered existence. Beyond them lie The Outer Gates, and beyond those, nothing that can be meaningfully named.
