Shuttering of the Spiral Archives

In 1038 AR, the Spiral Archives beneath Crodeux were sealed by joint order of the Church of Holy Law, the Lyceum of the Pale Sanctum, and Archduke Vaurant The reasons for the shuttering remain undisclosed, recorded only in restricted ecclesiastical records. Official statements spoke of “instability” and “doctrinal hazard,” but no clear threat was named.

Since then, the upper halls have remained warded, locked, and forbidden, watched closely by Iron Precept agents and Lyceum sentinels. Some say the Archives housed forbidden texts or cursed relics. Others speak of something awakened that could not be destroyed—only buried. Whatever the truth, no one who enters the sealed levels has returned, nor been spoken of again.
