Prior

A Prior is a mid-ranking official within the Church of Holy Law , charged with overseeing a single cathedral, temple, or regional cluster of Lawbearers. They serve as both spiritual leader and administrator, ensuring that doctrine is followed, rituals are performed correctly, and heresies are swiftly addressed.

Priors often act as judges in matters of Church law and may train promising acolytes for advancement. In larger cities, a Prior may also serve on local tribunals or advise civic leaders, bridging the sacred and the secular. They answer directly to an Archprior, and their seal is recognized across the principality as a mark of lawful authority.
