Kraglos DeMurian

Mayor (a.k.a. Boss)

Kragolos DeMurian is the kroll mayor of Dirkland. He sees to the affairs of the city and is a major player in the ore and metals trade, also being the CEO of one of the main mining companies operating in the far north, DeMurian Holdings. While his critics say there's a conflict of interest with these major positions, Kraglos laughs it off and says that there is no conflict of interest when he wants both his company and his city to prosper. Those in regular contact with him have taken to calling him "Boss" as it's usually unclear which title he wants to wear at any given time. A sonorous voice will speak honeyed words from his reptilian mouth, soothing uneasy citizens and clinching deals all the while.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Kraglos is overweight for a kroll, with a large belly that would drag were he to walk on all fours. He generally avoids doing so, preferring to walk upright with the aid of an ornate cane matching his ostentacious clothing and ten galon hat that stays on his relatively domed head through sheer will, some say. Glasses rest on his snout and the back of his neck, as kroll lack human-like ears to set them upon.

While being a shaper is still fairly uncommon for kroll, Kraglos is one of the moderate population of civilized kroll who aren't shapers.

Apparel & Accessories

Kraglos wears his wealth outwardly, adorning his each of his fingers with gold rings set with precious stones. He wears an embroidered button-up shirt under a long, ornate duster that is worn open while concealing a holstered pistol under his left arm. A pair of Kroll pants with embroidered patterns has gold studs lining the hems. His ten galon hat has a fancy iron plate on the front, intricately detailed with a scene of mine workers pushing along a minecart full of gold, with actual gold plating the cart's contents in the still. His cane is long to compensate for his short arms, made of laquered wood and capped with gold at the handle and the base. He owns a collection of seven such canes, swapping them out for different days of the week, each with different designs sculpted into the handles. His glasses are gold rimmed, with a lightweight steel frame wrapping around his head. A bolo tie with a gold slide set with a large emerald sits at the base of his considerable neck.

Once he decided to move out of the deserts of Flamehaven as a youth, Kraglos found employ within his current company, formerly known as Chorus Mining, as an administrative clerk. He quickly found his appetite for wealth fueling his ambition, and he quickly rose through the ranks to treasurer, and eventually CEO, upon which he renamed the company after himself. Having lived in Dirkland for over twenty years at this point, he decided to run for mayor, and won the polls by a minority vote. Over time, he proved his competence for the role and earned a majority vote in the next election, and has held the position since for eight years.

Motivation

Like most kroll, Kraglos desires wealth above all. Specifically material wealth, as while he understands knowledge is powerful, it is more of a commodity to him. What separates his desire for riches from other kroll is the sheer voracity with which he persues it. He is making as many deals as he can with the company while also earning a civil servant's wage in the mayor's office, and gives himself as large a cut as he can from the company's profits without overreaching into embezzlement. His personal coffers are immense, held in a secure vault under his stone residence just outside of the administrative sector of Dirkland.
His drive for wealth has led him to be in conflict with the Altean Army, demanding access to the knowledge needed to find and mine altanite, the one ore he cannot get through his usual channels. So far he has been unsuccessful, failing to formulate terms that Damon will agree to. This just leads to Kraglos pushing even harder for the rights to mine the dense metal, since getting that deal would put him in a very unique position with the metalurgy industry and allow him to reap untold profits, as the material is in massive demand with no supply as the Alteans keep it hoarded for their own use.
