The Dragonknight

Sequel to the Dragonslayer

After the wild success of The Dragonslayer, Carni'key Kal'haiyllyn was visited by a silver dragon known only as Boyten, who expressed concern at the glorification of dragon hunting in the work. Disguised as a Soulmeliti warrior. Over the course of several seasons, many cups of tea, and much conversation, Boyten convinced Carni'key to tell a tale where her hero, Vernal Trielheim journeyed alongside a draconic companion. Together, the two continued to right wrongs and aid the less fortunate. Their solutions, as often as not, came from wit and reason rather than a strong sword arm and dashing acrobats. This downplaying of action, combined with more ambiguous morals for each story, caused the epic to receive a tepid reaction by the public. Today, many scholars praise the work for its ambition, but most feel its predecessor the superior work.
