Temple of the High Sun

Built in Drakkar, directly on what astronomers have called Anderi's line, the temple is a structure of crystal and white marble. Unlike other temples, it has little in the way of housing or other amenities for clergy. Instead, almost all of its four-story tall interior is occupied by spaces to worship. Circular pews radiate out from the altar in the center, set directly beneath where the sun shines at high noon on Midsummer’s Day. A massive crytal floats above the altar, capturing and radiating the incoming light. A series of sculptures representing the great works of Anderi's faithful cut a path through the pews along the path of the sun on that sacred day, its arc a wide swath of crystal in the roof. The rest of the ceiling - and most of the walls - also hold cut glass, framed by delicate arcs of marble, allowing Anderi's light to stream through the entire structure.

All in all, the temple is a marvel of engineering and took nearly forty years to build. Imperial architects, upon seeing the design, had warned the priesthood that it would never stand. Impossibly, it has not only stood but weathered the harsh storms common to Drakkar for over sixty years.

In recent years, it has served as a beacon for Anderi's faithful, drawing them, along with the Holy Legion of Light in Warwick, to Azermathia, making the region one of the few in Human lands where one particular deity so dominates the faith of the masses.
