Lured by Cedric Kandar's tales of pristine waters teeming with silver tune and long sailed marlin, Captain Rathgar sold his families small estate in Drythe before setting off for the Gulf of Azermathia in a small, rickety ship in 519 AC. Loaded with lines, fresh water, and a minor mage who was fleeing his gambling debts, the Captain arrived at the Gulf and filled his holds with fresh gamefish, preserving the through with the help of the wizard's magic. Upon returning to Drythe, he flooded the fish market the his expensive catch and, in doing so, created both the insatiable hunger for gamefish in the courts of the Inner Seas and the great fishing industry that powers the economy of the city city that now bears his name.
