Jandor Goldtooth

Khadric Clanchief

Portraits of Jandor show a Khadra nearly as wide as he was tall. It wasn't softness either, that caused his width. Legend states that Jandor once lifted an ogre over his head while on patrol in his youth. Portraits also highlight his wild mane and knotted beard of such a golden hue that the rivaled the hiss famous incisors; golden replacements for the ones he lost in that same skirmish. Written accounts claim that Jandor was a Khadra of great warmth and mirth, quick to make friends, start a brawl, and then make amends.

History remembers him as the clanchief who broke with nearly two thousand years of tradition and re-opened diplomatic relations with the Soulmeliti Forests. The cause of this policy shift? It wasn't some sort of grand overture by the Soulmeliti or farseeing insight by Jandor. No, it was the fact that he loved Carni'key Kal'haiyllyn's novel The Dragonslayer and wanted to put it to press so that it could be read by everyone in New Kharolin. After two millennia distance, however, between the Khadra and the Soulmeliti, he couldn't be sure of the translation. And before he committed the gold to setting the press for over three hundred pages, he wanted to make sure he had correctly captured Carni'key's spirit. So, he journeyed to New Solarin and worked with the author - teaching him Khadric and modernizing his own Soulmeliti to ensure the perfect translation. Taken aback by the clanchief's dedication to art, Carni'key lobbied Forestpeaker Vendralythe Styvalhyme to open formal diplomatic relations.
