Traitor to the Soulmeliti Forests
During the middle of the sixth century, deep within the occupation of the Soulmeliti Forests by the Elanthai Council, a number of Eldorian merchants began smuggling Soulmeliti out of New Solarin in their caravans. Some merchnants made excellent coin for thier troubles, while others braved Elynthi punishment out of a sense of just.
It never came to light to which camp Henri belonged. After an imperial invesitgation into the incident, his business was found to be solvent and thriving, though not wildly so. Perhaps, the investigation noted, Henri was tricked, beleiving that that Dara Teshar Shal'Tuiz was in fact working for Soulmeliti underground. No matter the motivation, after smuggling out several Soulmeliti, Henri turned his back upon the oppressed, exposing the entire operation, leading to a swift crack down and cessation of all merchant activity.
Despite his betrayal, Henri will forever be on the List of the Thanked. His kindness in freeing some of our borthers and sisters outways his failings of courage" decreed Thanerithyn Styvalhyme. "Lack of courage is, after all, a distinctly Human condition." That distinction probably gave him little solace, however, when he was among the hundred merchants executed for the smuggling ring by the same Elynthi to which he betrayed his brethren.
