Stern faced, often with a furrowed brow in portraits, the 9th Forestspeaker governed theSoulmeliti Forests for 250 years - around a critical time where Human began to demonstrate their propensity to dominate the politics of Tarien. Perhaps it was this realization that narrowed his grey eyes in paintings or perhaps it was just the style of portraiture at the time. Regardless, there are no records that would indicate any sort of dishonorable behavior on Thanerithyn's part. By all accounts he was as serious and - in the words of his grandson, Seltrick Styvalhyme - "stuffy" - as his likeness on canvas.

He is most know for his recognition of the fledgling Empire of Eldoria was the first formal agreement between New Solarin and a foreign nation since the signing of the Drakshal Accords. This overture quickly lead to the establishment of a Soulmeliti embassy in Karradone and the two nations maintain excellent relations and substantial economic trade to this day.
