Garnick Granitearms Character in Tarien | World Anvil

Garnick Granitearms

Khadric Clan Chief and Warrior

Garnick also claimed to have come from noble stock, though it took several pints of ale and at least one leg of roast mutton for him to explain how, through his mother's second cousin, he was related to Bhak Ironarms. Anyone who sat through these sessions - and managed to remember them - would not be surprised to learn of his eventual election to as Clanchief.

Garnick began his journey to fame like any brave Khadric warrior. He left the Underground Kingdom when he came of age to test his mettle in the Orkish Hills. Unlike most, however, his journey lasted nearly a century. During his journeys he befriended a Soulmeliti prince, joined an adventuring company, slew an undead dragon and travelled the multiverse.

Upon returning home, he assumed a position as master sergeant of New Kharolin's guard, training future generations of Khadric warriors and spending his nights at the various taverns of New Kharolin, befriending everyone he met with tales of his legendary exploits and seemingly endless mugs of mead. So prolific was he that, when he won the election to Clan Chief in 551 AC, it was of no surprise to anyone. Garnick died defending the city against a great demon that, trapped upon Tarien decades before, had made its way into the city from one of the deepest mines.
