Fraternal Order of Fishermen
Founded alongside Rathgar in 670 AC as a response to the Eldorian and Yatian blockade of the city, the Order helps to both manage fisheries across Southern Tarien as a way to manage prices. Headquartered in Rathgar, the center of big game fishing on Tarien the Order has chapters in Karradone, Drythe, Yaty, and likes to see itself as a Guild on the magnitude of the Merchant's Guild.
Unfortunately, they have had little luck expanding their reach beyond the rich fishing grounds in the southern Sea of Storms; the thousands of local, subsistence fishermen in ports across the Inner Seas seeing little benefit in the Order. Still, for those vessels travelling great distances to fish, they have managed to cut competition, keeping operations in the hands a few, well funded fishing fleets. While one might assume that the high cost of membership in the Order have something to do with preventing upstarts from joining the Order. Rumors that the Order has close ties with the Azermathian Alliance and Prydithen Gentlemen's Association who often convince freelance fishermen to look for other lines of work are probably closer to the truth.
