Calkaran Lodge
One might find it strange that the small town of Calkara be the headquarters for a worldwide organization like the Bonded Blades but it's location both at the end of the caravan route from Trai'dietch Pass and on the Trans-Rheuthengage Highway make it an excellent crossroads. Also, as of 632 AC they own the town. Technically, the Larissa Renault, the head of the guild is the Baroness of Calkara, but between the lands that come with the title and the barracks and mess hall in the center of the village, much of the land is indeed owned by the Blades.
As its headquarters, the Blades have a number of staff permanently stationed in Calkara to manage the paperwork and finances of the guild. These clerical activities, as wells as the Blades' gold reserves, are located at the Baroness's country manor, a small stone keep just outside of town. The walls and gate of the keep are guarded, of course, by seasoned members. It is here that the business of the Bonded Blades, from processing new memberships to paying out death benefits to passing judgement on members, occurs.
With the town itself members can always get a free bed and meal at the guild lodges. Many fresh off the caravan trail prefer the ale and entertainment found at one of the local inns, instead. Merchants seeking guards often frequent these same taverns, making the town an excellent place for a sellsword to find work.
