Aran'fantarhyme

In Soulmeliti society there are those who follow the path of the warrior, and those who delve into the arcane arts. Occasionally a rare Soulmeliti will divide his attention between the two, becoming equally proficient in both. Even more rare, is the Soulmeliti who blends the two into one fearsome fighting style. These are the Aran'fantarhyme. Translated loosely as "Battle Dancers" from Soulmeliti, they are both warriors and spellcasters of the highest order. They've dedicated their lives to upholding and protecting the interests of the Soulmeliti Forests, and woe to those who would cross them.

Even with the long history of the Soulmeliti, none know how the order first began, its origins predating even the Scroll of Years. And unlike their cousins, the Kirsh'shaluush who maintain a public stronghold, mission, and hierarchy, the Aran'fantarhyme have no such trappings. Indeed, to call the two orders cousins is public misconception. They have little in common except that enemies of the Soulmeliti tremble at them mention of both their names.

Without a stronghold or public leader, much speculation has been made about the order. Other than the order's members, no one knows how new Aran'fantarhyme are selected or initiated. None know about how they govern themselves or even how members associate. With this mystery, wild rumors have swirled for millennia, ranging from the tales that they are a clandestine arm of the Styvalhyme Clan and the reason that they have long held power in New Solarin to one that claims the order worships the dark god instead of Tyloma. And despite having very public members in the past, including the Forestspeaker Vernal Styvalhyme and the folk hero Ver'sheli Roen'shai, none have been substantiated or squashed. What is known is that in nearly every action recorded about an Aran'fantarhyme, the warriors have displayed the highest codes of honor to all - Soulmeliti and non-Soulmeliti alike, while bestowing the the most terrible wrath upon their enemies.
