Fiolag Samuel Evani Character in Tariek Rough Collection | World Anvil

Fiolag Samuel Evani

A tall, strong and imposing man, well above average height for a human. He is strong, a mountain of a man in build, and built his reputation against the yeti heard that roiled forth from the eastern parts of the Glacial Spears with a halberd and impressive bravery, courage, and skill at great violence. At Pike Point Stand, the battle that broke the horde, he led the counter charge that broke the horde, and indeed it was his halberd that felled their shamanic leaders, all three of them. He was grievously wounded, but survived, and part of his many rewards was of course the granting of a title and a parcel of lands to have guardianship over for him and his descendants. This was five years ago, so again, a really new member of Suranth's upper caste, the nation's elite.

The imposing figure, with his military style of dress, his greatcoat of white bear hide, and his halberd present, always close to hand, he cuts an imposing figure. His face helps with this, his nose missing, half his lips gone from a grievous burn, injury inflicted by foul magicks of one of the shamans. He was lucky, though much of his face, neck and upper left shoulder should have been burned horrendously, the many layers of hide and armor, collapsing and thrashing in snow and ice, saved much of the worst. His eye escaped to keep its vision, though he has no real eyelid, and has to keep a specialized water skin full of a fluid made by his own personal alchemist that he must regularly put drops into his eye to keep it from drying out and wasting away. He wears an eyepatch to sleep, and when he feels safe enough to do so, providing limited value almost as an eyelid. His left shoulder and upper arm is scarred, the scars hidden by tattooed designs. His neck is red and blistered on its left side, a permanent mark, but his vocal ability was thankfully not effected. He is of course well decorated with all of Suranth's highest military honors, including being only one of two living recipients of prestigious Ironstorm Spear, the medal awarded for 'bravery and courage shown above and beyond regular duty, to help defeat the enemy, and defend your fellow service men and women, in the face of impossible danger and odds." His suicidal charge saw him fighting three against one to the death with three Void Shamans. He should not have survived, hell he should not have killed them all. But he did. Only one other recipient of this honor survived the endeavor that would see them awarded it, out of the seven recipients there have ever been. So needless to say this man in his mid thirties is respected, well feared, but also admired.
